Algeria qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast next year with a 1-0 win over Niger at the Stade Olympique in Rades on Monday evening. WRAP ▶️

Striker Baghdad Bounedjah, whose winning strike in the 2019 edition in Egypt steered the Desert Foxes to the title, was on target again inside just five minutes from kick-off.

It took a 30th minute penalty-kick from Moses Simon to hand the Super Eagles maximum points, which took the side back to the top of the table in Group A. Lucas Joao broke the deadlock for the host five minutes after the break with a spot-kick but Osman Bukari rescued the Black Stars late on as the spoils were shared in Luanda.

The visitors needed just four minutes to go ahead through Liverpool’s Naby Keita, but Kenean Markneh restored parity for the Walias.
