Alexe Godin said she suffered an injury which is why she ‘wasn’t there on the date’ on Grant Ellis’ season 29 of ‘The Bachelor’
Alexe Godin’s limited screen time on the latest episode of The Bachelor may not be solely due to editing. “For everyone asking why I wasn’t there on the date: I was concussed so I went to bed early,” Alexe, 27, revealed via her Instagram Story on Monday, February 18, alongside a selfie showing the reality star frowning.
In the Monday episode of the ABC reality dating series, Alexe and seven other of Grant Ellis’ suitors continued to vie for his affections on a group date in Madrid. The group went for a ride on a donkey and attempted mechanical bull riding — where Alexe showed off her technique of grabbing the bull by its horns, which may be how she ended up injured. While Alexe walked into the cocktail party on the date with the women by her side, she was visibly missing as they gathered on couches at the end of the night and was not seen conversing with Grant, 31. Alexe reappeared for the cocktail party ahead of the rose ceremony, where she ultimately earned a rose from Grant while Parisa Shifteh and Natalie Phillips were eliminated. Alexe’s connection with Grant was visible from the premiere episode of season 29, where she earned his first impression rose after introducing him to her “no drama llama.” “Our chemistry was there. It’s pretty evident that we were, you know, going back and forth — we’re laughing, we’re joking, we’re having fun, and she made me laugh,” Grant exclusively told Us Weekly in January. “A lot of the women I laugh with, but there was something about that first night that from the llama to our sense of humor and it was a combination of things that made me give out that rose .”In a twist, Alexe was also awarded the coveted first one-on-one date of the season with Grant at a closed mall. After Grant sat down at the piano and freestyled an original song for Alexe, the pair opened up about their pasts and she earned another rose. “I am feeling over the moon, honestly. This was like the best date of my entire life,” Alexe said in a confessional. “I want to feel in my partner that he supports me, and that no matter what, I can just run into his arms because I didn’t always have somebody growing up to lean on. I do think that my love journey with Grant is so beautiful and this is a very special moment.”
