Soccer star Alex Morgan was left off the roster for the United States women’s national team at the upcoming Summer Olympics in Paris, according to the team's announcement. The roster was announced June 26. In a message on Instagram, Morgan, a former co-captain of the team, seemed caught off-guard by the decision not to include her but said she would root for the team from afar next month.
“Making an Olympic roster is a huge privilege and an honor and there is no denying that it was an extremely competitive process among the players and that there were difficult choices, especially considering how hard everyone has worked over the past 10 months,” she said in a statement.
