Red Sox manager Alex Cora is asking for upper-level assistance after leading Boston on a hot steak.
When speaking to media before Wednesday’s game against the Blue Jays, Cora — whose team has won eight of its last 10 games — imbued Boston brass to be proactive and improve the team before the July 30 MLB trade deadline.
“There’s teams ahead of us that, they’re not playing good baseball. I know one of them is probably only for five days, but there’s more out there,” Cora said,and the Orioles, who had lost five straight before winning Wednesday. “Let’s not settle for the third Wild Card.
