Actor Alec Baldwin was in a New Mexico court Monday for a hearing as his trial on involuntary manslaughter for a fatal shooting on the set of 'Rust' was set to start.
Actor Alec Baldwin attended a pretrial hearing in a New Mexico courtroom on Monday, one day before his trial on involuntary manslaughter for a fatal shooting on the set of "Rust" was set to start.The hearing, expected to last much of the day, will allow Judge Mary Marlowe Sommer to consider requests from prosecutors and defense attorneys that could restrict what evidence, testimony and court arguments are heard by a jury.
Baldwin took a seat in the courtroom Monday beside a four-person legal team, sitting between lead attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro, with a yellow legal pad on the table in front of him,Baldwin, the lead actor and co-producer for the Western film “Rust,” was pointing a gun at cinematographer Halyna Hutchins during a rehearsal on a movie set outside Santa Fe in October 2021 when the revolver went off, killing Hutchins and wounding director Joel Souza.for the shooting.
