Shoppers took to Facebook to share their confusion at the expensive chicken, some of which was scanning at £650.
Confused customers at the bargain supermarket chain took to social media to report some of Aldi's fresh chicken being scanned for unusually high prices ranging from £65 right up to £650.
They wrote: "Beware chicken breast pack of 4 supposedly national issue as of yesterday......small trolley kinda full.....£120....yeah I'll see receipt! Chicken £5.70 going through at £65.60!!!!!!" Top Trending Stories Today According to Aldi, the problem was because of a barcode error. This made the scanner register the chicken at multiple times its weight, instead of its actual price. And in order to fix the issue, Aldi staff have input the weights manually at the till.
