The hospital has urged people to only bring children to the emergency department in urgent cases
A major incident has been declared at Alder Hey Children's Hospital following multiple stabbings in Southport . The hospital has asked parents only to bring their children to the emergency department if it is urgent. The ECHO understands that one person - believed to be a child - has died following the incident today. Possibly more than ten others - both adults and children - have been taken to hospitals around the region with major traumas. Police arrived at a property on Hart Street at 11.
The Trust is working with other emergency services to respond to this incident and our Emergency Department is currently extremely busy. 'We ask parents to only bring their children to the Emergency Department if it is urgent. All other appointments and services are running as normal.
