Yankees and Astros fans will have to wait another day. ALCS
Published 12:57 PM EDT Oct 16, 2019A forecast of all-day rain forced postponement of Wednesday's Game 4 of the American League Championship Series at Yankee Stadium.
With the Houston Astros leading the New York Yankees 2-1 in the best-of-seven series, Game 4 will now be played at 8:08 p.m. Thursday at Yankee Stadium. This will eliminate the scheduled travel day on Friday; Games 6 and 7, if necessary, would be played on Saturday and Sunday at Houston's Minute Maid Park.
Due to the rainout, Yankees manager Aaron Boone is likely to start Masahiro Tanaka on regular rest in Game 4, while Astros manager A.J. Hinch could bring back Zack Greinke - creating a rematch of Game 1, won by the Yankees, 7-0. Houston's Justin Verlander could pitch on regular rest against the Yankees' James Paxton in Friday's Game 5, or the Astros could attempt a bullpen game - thus saving Verlander and Gerrit Cole for potential Games 6 and 7.
