Australian voters will be playing close attention to what will be spent and cut in next week's budget, with the Albanese government's decision set to come under heavy public scrutiny due to his childhood.
The Prime Minister came from humble beginnings and was raised by single mother Maryanne in a council house in the inner-west Sydney suburb of Camperdown.
Fast forward nearly one year on and that childhood story could play a key role in whether voters continue to support or turn against him after next week's budget. "These contrasts are defining the electoral landscape in those areas at the moment. I wouldn’t want to be a sitting Labor MP in a Labor Greens contest at this point."
But some spending, including the $368 billion bill for eight nuclear-powered submarines to defend the country and potential cuts to the National Disability Insurance Scheme are two touchy subjects voters have voiced their concern. He warned if the Albanese government cut NDIS"for the sake of cutting it", it would ultimately send a message to voters which could become"politically very dangerous".
