The Alaska Supreme Court has affirmed a previous decision made by lower courts to let a ballot measure to repeal Ranked-Choice voting remain on the ballot.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - The Alaska Supreme Court has affirmed the lower court decision to keep Ballot Measure Two on the 2024 ballot, after an appeal sought to prevent it’s appearance.
In July, Superior Court Judge Christine Rankin oversaw a case that sought to disqualify Ballot Measure Two, which will have Alaskan’s choosing whether or not to keep Ranked-Choice voting. On July 24, Rankin entered final judgement for that case and one day later that decision was appealed. After hearing arguments from both sides, the Alaska Supreme Court has decided to affirm Judge Rankin’s decision, allowing the measure to repeal Ranked-Choice voting to remain on the ballot.
