ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski made it clear Friday how concerned she is about the number of federal employees being laid off by the Trump administration.
In a post on her Facebook page, Murkowski called the employee cuts “abrupt” and said they will do “more harm than good.” “I share the administration’s goal of reducing the size of the federal government, but this approach is bringing confusion, anxiety, and now trauma to our civil servants—some of whom moved their families and packed up their whole lives to come here,“ Murkowski wrote.
Murkowski stated that Alaska could potentially see “over 100″ job losses due to the Trump administration’s actions.”Indiscriminate workforce cuts aren’t efficient and won’t fix the federal budget, but they will hurt good people who have answered the call to public service to do important work for our nation.
