Alaska curler Vicky Persinger and teammate Chris Plys gave the U.S. Olympic Team its first victory of the 2022 Beijing Olympic Winter Games in their opening mixed doubles match against Australia.Persinger and Plys overcame a scrappy performance by Australians Dean Hewitt and Tahli Gill to win 6-5. The U.S.
In the 8th and final end, Australia’s Gill missed a takeout of her own with the game’s final shot, giving the Americans the steal and their first win of the Beijing games.
