MANILA, Philippines — Alas Pilipinas bagged its second win in as many games in pool A of the Asian Volleyball Confederation 2024 Challenge Cup at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Friday, May 24.After debuting with a four-set win against Australia on Thursday, Alas Pilipinas handed India its first loss in the tournament with a 22-25, 25-21, 25-17, 25-18 beating.Angel Canino led the home tean with 22 points on 19 attacks, two aces, and a block.
India tried to rally but Alas Pilipinas took care of its lead and led by five, 21-16, courtesy of Sisi Rondina's explosive crosscourt hit.India scored in the next play but Canino and Chery Nunag responded for the Filipinos who took a 23-17 lead.After a long rally as both teams traded spikes, libero Dawn Macandili-Catindig dove for the ball and got the lucky bounce as team India struggled to receive the ball for a 24-17.
