I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
I have been attempting to formulate a reasonable guess at GOTY nominees and potential winner list for a while now as we head into the end of the year, but every time I turn around some sort of new competitor has emerged.
However, even though Alan Wake 2 is not in the 90+ range like so many games are this year, my guess is that it secures one of the spots after this release. The voters in The Game Awards are journalists and industry devs and leaders, and I have seen dozens and dozens of them absolutely raving about Alan Wake 2 as a masterpiece.
