Earlier this month, fans of the hit ass-kicking Prime Video series, Reacher, finally got the news they had longed for. Despite production concluding in 2025, the fourth installment of the beloved series had no official release date for quite some time.
Although an exact premiere date is still not known, Alan Ritchson himself put minds at ease by telling Collider,"Well, we finished shooting Season 4 of Reacher. It’s by far the best season we’ve had yet, so it’s coming. It’ll be out this year." Season 4 will adapt Lee Child’s 13th Reacher novel, Gone Tomorrow, and will hopefully arrive sooner rather than later. Whilst Ritchson fans wait for their next fill of skull-cracking action, many millions are flocking to one of his biggest blockbusters to pass the time. Released in May 2023 after plenty of complications during production, Fast X, the tenth main installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, proved a huge hit at the box office, earning more than $700 million from a long global release. However, this total is barely enough to consider Fast X a success, given the film's $340 million budget, making it one of the ten most expensive movies of all time. As is customary for a Fast & Furious entry, Fast X features a star-studded line-up of Hollywood's biggest action stars, including the aforementioned Ritchson, Vin Diesel, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, John Cena, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Momoa, and many more. At the time of writing, almost three years after its debut, Fast X is back in the U.S. streaming charts as one of the ten most-watched movies on Peacock. It will likely come as little surprise to learn that the reaction from general audiences was much stronger to this Fast & Furious franchise entry than the critics' response. On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, this is illustrated by the movie's 56% critics' score and 84% audience rating, with the consensus on the site reading,"As irredeemably silly as it is satisfyingly self-aware, Fast X should rev the engines of longtime fans while leaving many newcomers in neutral." All aspects of the movie considered, Fast X ticks all the boxes for an easy-viewing popcorn flick. The Fast Saga is now set to conclude with the 11th and reportedly final movie, Fast Forever.
