The Alamodome in San Antonio has completed a multi-million dollar renovation, adding 18 new luxury suites to its south end. These upgrades, completed in time for Monster Jam, are set to be ready for the 2025 NCAA Men's Final Four. The suites boast modern amenities like climate control, adjustable lighting, and sound systems, as well as operable partitions for flexible room sizes.
The Alamodome in San Antonio has unveiled 18 new luxury suites on its south end as part of a multi-million dollar renovation project. These upgrades, completed just in time for the Monster Jam event, are set to be ready for the 2025 NCAA Men's Final Four in April.
Steve Zito, assistant director of convention and sports facilities at the Alamodome, highlighted the advanced features of the suites, including pocket doors that expand their capacity, operable partitions for flexible room sizes, and climate control, adjustable lighting, and sound systems. The new suites, totaling 174 seats, boast modern amenities like two refrigerators, ice makers, and heating elements to keep chafing dishes warm. They are part of a $29 million upgrade to meet the NCAA's requirement of at least 70 luxury suites for the Final Four. These renovations add over 170 new seats and will benefit future events like the March UIL Boys and Girls State Basketball Tournaments, UTSA and Brahmas football games.Hosting the Final Four is projected to bring a significant economic boost to the city. Elena Wells, executive director of the San Antonio Local Organizing Committee (SALOC), announced that local officials estimate an economic impact of around $440 million over the four days of the event. The city expects approximately 100,000 visitors. In addition to the suites, the Alamodome will also see upgrades to the fifth-level concession and concourse areas, providing more space for fans. Zito emphasized that these improvements are a valuable investment for San Antonio, keeping the Alamodome competitive and enhancing its appeal for future events
