Alabama and North Carolina will get a rematch of last year’s Sweet 16 upset this winter in the SEC-ACC Challenge, according to a report from CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein. The game is set for Wednesday, Dec. 4.The No. 4 seed Crimson Tide upset the No. 1 seed Tar Heels in Los Angeles on the way to the Final Four.
It was one of several thrilling games Alabama and UNC have played in recent seasons. Alabama won a quadruple overtime game against UNC in 2022. Alabama is 6-7 all-time against UNC.Alabama faced Clemson at Coleman Coliseum last year in the first edition of the challenge. Clemson won the game 85-77 on Nov. 28. The two sides would meet again in the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament. Alabama won that time and earned a trip to the Final Four.
This is the second year of the SEC-ACC challenge, which replaced previous matchups against Big-12 teams.
