On Monday, Alabama offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan said the lack of yardage from Milroe was largely due to the game plan. Despite the loss, Milroe played well in the defeat. Offense was not the main problem for the Crimson Tide, as its defense was unable to get off the field throughout the game. “There was a couple of that he popped through there, and the rest of them were more off-schedule scramble-type situations, so there weren’t that many opportunities for him to run,” Sheridan said. “And we didn’t call as many as we had through the course of the game, but that’s just kind of how the game unfolded.”
