“I am a huge fan of cities that value their community of skaters and what the activity can do to inspire young people,” pro skater Jake Wooten said during the grand opening of Skate Depot in Cullman.
, a Tennessee native, was on hand for the opening on Saturday, performing a demo in the bowl for spectators. Wooten, 22, a rising star in the skate world, lives in California and counts Red Bull and Santa Cruz Skateboards among his sponsors. Music from Atlanta DJ Mykael V was part of the opening, as well.
“I am a huge fan of cities that value their community of skaters and what the activity can do to inspire young people,” Wooten said, according to the Cullman parks department. Wooten signed autographs for fans at the event and joined city officials for a ribbon-cutting.
