Chris Braswell was taken by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round of the NFL Draft.
Braswell joined fellow Crimson Tide edge Dallas Turner, who was taken eighth overall by the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday. With Will Anderson going to the Houston Texans last season, that makes three Alabama edge-rushers who have gone in the first two rounds of the past two drafts.
“I can play edge,” the Baltimore native said. “Outside linebacker. I play a little 4i , I play a little stack backer, so pretty versatile. Whatever the need me at, I can play.” He was named second-team all-SEC for his efforts in 2023. The 6-foot-3, 255-pound Braswell finished the year with eight sacks, along with 42 tackles.
