Georgia is ranked number one with 46 first place votes, Ohio State is 2nd with 15 first place votes, Oregon is third garnering the other first place vote. Texas is fourth while the Tide, who lost to Texas last year and now are in the same league with the Longhorns, are right behind. Auburn failed to crack the Top 25, receiving two votes. The Tide opens the season at home August 31 against Western Kentucky. Auburn opens at home the same day against Alabama A&M.Others receiving votes: Louisville 111, Virginia Tech 77, Boise St. 47, SMU 33, Iowa St. 33, Liberty 32, Washington 23, West Virginia 17, Memphis 16, Nebraska 16, Wisconsin 15, UTSA 6, Tulane 5, Appalachian St. 4, Kentucky 3, Auburn 2, Colorado 1.
