As part of the College Football Playoff media obligations, approximately 15 minutes of the workout were open to reporters.-- The return of defensive lineman LT Overton was confirmed as the starter led the line for his unit drills. Overton missed the SEC championship game with Georgia and the Dec. 19 CFP first-round win at Oklahoma with an undisclosed illness. Overton’s return-- Running back Kevin Riley was also back on the practice field after missing the last three games -- A number of Alabama’s early enrollees were on the practice field as the 2026 signing class got a head start on the collegiate transition. That includes quarterback Jett Thomalla, a four-star prospect out of Omaha, and receiver. He’s expected to remain with Alabama through the end of the playoff run. Receivers coach JaMarcus Shephard left before the playoff opener to start his job as the Oregon State head coach.
