Alabama is once again among the nation’s leading markets in lake real estate, not only for the amount of homes on the market, but their value.
According to the Birmingham firm, the peak of the market in real estate, and at essentially all lakes, has passed.
Alabama has more than 3,780 lake homes listing on the market, making it among the nation’s most active. Texas leads the pack with more than 12,000 listings. The total value of the Alabama market fell by about 28% from winter, according to the report - from $173 million to $125 million. The most expensive homes in the state are at Lake Tuscaloosa, with an average price of more than $991,000.
