Three Alabama leaders will be holding a series of public events Thursday to engage with the community.

According to a release by the city of Montgomery, Mayor Steven L. Reed, along with House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Congressional District 2 candidate Shomari Figures, will come together for three events aimed at engaging with the community. First, the events begin with a 20-minute press conference where Mayor Reed, Leader Jeffries, and Figures will address key issues impacting the community. The press conference will be held at the Rosa Parks Bus Stop on Court Square in Downtown Montgomery, starting at 10:05 a.m.
Next, Mayor Reed and Leader Jeffries will head to Alabama State University for a roundtable discussion about priorities and solutions for the Montgomery community. The discussion will be held in the Alabama State University Acadome Banquet Room from 11:05 a.m. to 11:40 a.m. Finally, all three leaders will be joined by State Representative Kenyatte Hassell for a community barbershop talk aimed at having casual conversations in an informal setting for community members to share what topics are of interest to them. It will be held at Heritage Barber & Style Shop from noon to 12:40 p.m.
