Students who don’t meet the required score can participate in a summer reading camp and retake the test to move on to the fourth grade.If they qualify for special needs, then an IEP team will be convened. The state has worked to provide a reading coach to every elementary school in the state to help K-3 teachers prepare their students for the ACAP. Education leaders have also supported reading camps for thousands of students.
