John Fisher, a mobile attorney and hemp advocate, is fighting to keep hemp products legal in Alabama. A new bill, Senate Bill 132, aims to reclassify hemp-based products like Delta 8, Delta 9, and Delta 10 as Schedule 1 narcotics, making possession a felony. Jennifer Boozer, owner of Canabama, one of Alabama's oldest hemp product stores, shares Fisher's concerns and emphasizes the industry's commitment to public safety and preventing access for children. Both advocate for cooperation with lawmakers to establish clear regulations and protect legitimate businesses.
He wants to convince the courts , law makers and the public that those hemp products you see sold in CBD store across Alabama ... should continue to be sold.
"The biggest complaint that we hear is public safety and access for children,” says Boozer. “And no one in the hemp industry that is a legitimate business person wants kids to have access to hemp. We don't want kids to get their parents gummies anymore than we want them to get their parent's beer. We don't want that."
