Alabama golfer wins U.S. Amateur Championship, joins Tiger Woods in record book

Nick Dunlap, a native of Huntsville, Ala., added another accolade to his young career on Sunday.

Dunlap was the top-rated prospect in his class, per Golfweek. He led UA in average strokes per round in his freshman season , setting the second-lowest per-round single-season average in program history. Dunlap’s 10 top-20 finishes helped earn him the No. 16 ranking in the nation.

Earlier this summer, Dunlap won the Northeast Amateur title and North & South Amateur championship.
