Strong to severe storms will be possible statewide from Tuesday afternoon through Wednesday morning ahead of a cold front, according to the National Weather Service. Read the details:
Severe weather will be possible starting on Tuesday afternoon in Alabama. The areas in orange have a Level 3 out of 5 risk of seeing severe storms, which means numerous severe storms will be possible. The areas in yellow have a Level 2 risk and could see scattered severe storms. The areas in dark green have a Level 1 risk and could have to deal with isolated severe storms. The stronger storms are expected to reach Alabama later this afternoon and spread eastward through the overnight hours.
The initial wave of storms could be more of a hail threat, according to forecasters. The tornado potential is expected to increase later in the afternoon.
