Orange Beach chef Brody Olive won the 2023 Great American Seafood Cook-Off with a presentation of gaff-top catfish with flash-fried mole crabs, gulf shrimp horseradish cream, pickled purslane and smoked paprika coral tuile. 👏

An Alabama chef has won national honors at the 2023 Great American Seafood Cook-Off.

Smith was among the 2023 judges, along with New York-based chef Ari Miller; chef and food writer Kiki Aranita; and Michael Benedict, CEO of Benedict Advertising and owner of Parker Stark Restaurant Group. Runners-up included Alaska Chef Nathan Bentley from Altura Bistro in Anchorage, who came in second with his Alaska King Crab merus, prosciutto, and saffron-carrot foam.
