“We unequivocally demand they immediately acknowledge and address these issues or we will begin a national campaign around McDonald’s,” wrote Mr., NAN’s founder and president. “You cannot sell Black folks Big Macs and give us little justice.” Several Black owners of McDonald’s franchises sued the corporation in 2020, claiming executives set them up to fail by placing them in the high-crime neighborhoods. Another lawsuit from the company’s former head of security alleges that Black executives experience multiple incidents of racist and hostile treatment.
