On Saturday, the Egyptian Premier League table toppers looked to secure their first victory on South African soil when they took on the Brazilians in their latest CAF Champions League tie, but it was not to be as they were subjected to their second heaviest defeat in the history of the competition in Tshwane.
The loss to Rhulani Mokwena’s charges leaves the Red Devils on the brink of a shock continental competition exit as they trail first place Sundowns by six points followed by Sudanese giants Al Hilal with a five-point deficit. Sources in Egypt have informed Soccer Laduma should Koller fail to qualify for the quarter-final stages then it will mark the end of the Swiss’ tenure in Cairo.
