The Akron Zoo is celebrating the eclipse with a sold-out day full of activities and animal viewing.
AKRON, Ohio -
The 19 News team is everywhere for the total solar eclipse: reporters Steven Hernandez and Katie Tercek are live from the Akron Zoo all day as the zoo celebrates. The zoo opened at 11 a.m. with ticket holders lined up outside the gate, ready to enjoy a full day at the zoo. Tickets are required to get into the event.Crafts, keeper talks, education stations and a livestream of NASA Live are all available to those in attendance.19 News is all eclipse, all day. Check back for the latest on what’s happening at the Akron Zoo.It will be partially visible from 1:59 p.m. to 4:28 p.m. Totality starts at 3:14 p.m. – peak totality is at 3:15 p.m.
