The Akron Education Association is demanding action from the Akron Board of Education following new allegations of abuse against Superintendent Dr. Michael Robinson. Former Communications Director Mark Williamson accused Robinson of using derogatory language towards female reporters and making inappropriate comments towards employees and students.

The Akron Education Association is calling for action after more allegations of abuse surfaced against Superintendent Dr. Michael Robinson. Former Communications Director Mark Williamson wrote a letter to the Akron Board of Education on December 5th detailing his claims. In one instance, Williamson alleges that Robinson used a derogatory slur towards two female reporters in front of the district's human resources director.

Akron Education Association President Pat Shipe expressed concern over the language used by Robinson, stating that it sets a troubling example for students and employees. The association's lawyer, Donald Malarcik, informed 19 News that this is not the first time Robinson has faced accusations of inappropriate behavior. The association claims to have filed over 20 grievances, and the Board of Education has initiated an internal investigation. Shipe criticized the board for allowing Robinson to remain in his position with direct contact with his accusers, emphasizing that any other employee accused of creating a toxic work environment would be placed on administrative leave. 19 News has reached out to the school system, all members of the Board of Education, and Dr. Robinson for comment
