I’m thankful to report there was no loss of life or injuries reported due to the storm,” Akron Mayor Shammas Malik said in a statement. The city is continuing its clean-up efforts Friday. Residents can report sewer backups and downed trees by calling 3-1-1. Crews will respond, but the city is asking for patience due to the high volume of calls. Crews can also drop off gloves and sanitizer for minor sewer backups, according to the city. Good Park and Mud Run golf courses are both closed Friday due to standing water, according to the city.Those nearly five inches of rain that dumped on Cuyahoga Falls affected concertgoers at Blossom Music Center Thursday night as well, as Ohio native singer John Legend’s show with the Cleveland Orchestra was. The orchestra posted a notice on its social media accounts saying it was already working with Legend on a rescheduled date. The overnight storms came days after area tornados and rain cut power to more than 400,000 residents in Northeast Ohio.
