Lim displayed remarkable tennis skills and determination in overpowering local contender Hanyi Liu with a decisive 6-1, 6-3 victory on Wednesday, June 26. In the tournament's opening round, Lim outlasted 24-year-old Sheng Tang, 7-5, 3-0 .
Despite a more competitive second set, Lim's broke loose from a 3-3 tie and won the next three games to secure his victory.
