Hyperscale data centre specialist, AirTrunk, is building Malaysia's most efficient and sustainable data centre in JB. Set to be completed in 2024, it will be anchored by one of the world's largest tech firms.

AirTrunk, an Asia Pacific & Japan hyperscale data centre specialist, has announced that it’s entering Malaysia with the development of a 150+ megawatt data centre in Johor Bahru. Named as AirTrunk JHB1, the new data centre spanning 10.3 hectares of land is the company’s first in Malaysia and the 9th in the Asia Pacific and Japan region. The upcoming data centre will increase its data centre platform to over 1.

AirTrunk Founder & CEO Robin Khuda said, “It is an exciting time for our business as we announce a new data centre in a new country with a large anchor tenant. AirTrunk continues to develop critical digital infrastructure to support accelerating digitalisation in the region.” The data centre will also feature solar-ready roof that’s equipped to add 5MW of solar panels. The new facility is also said to be designed to AirTrunk’s industry-lowof 1.15 and renewable energy supply options will be available to customers.
