Once a Tile is paired with the app, it’s extremely easy to use. All you have to do is open the Tile app and select the tracker you want to locate. It’ll make a loud noise that you can easily hear through a couch cushion or pile of clothes. The 350-foot range is large enough that you shouldn’t have to search too long in a standard-sized house.
Even if your Tile is lost outside of Bluetooth range, you still have options to track it. Whenever someone using the Tile app comes within range of a tracker, it pings its location back to the main server. So, even if your luggage gets sent across the country by accident, odds are you’ll get an update telling you exactly where it is.
Plus, Tile is one of the more popular tracker brands, so there are plenty of opportunities for your Tile to phone home. The Tile isn’t just for tracking items, though. It’s a great tool for keeping yourself and your loved ones safe as well. The Tile has an SOS function you can activate with a long press.
When triggered, it sends an alert to everyone in your Life360 Circle with your location. So, if you find yourself in a situation where you can’t get to your phone, it’s easy to let someone know you’re in trouble.. With a three-year battery and IP68 water resistance, the cost-per-year is low enough that putting one on each item that tends to wander is a practical move rather than an indulgence.
