Armed police rushed to East Midlands Airport this evening and a flight was delayed for hours after a man claimed to have an "explosive device". The Jet2 plane was heading to Antalya in Turkey and had to be held on the tarmac while the passenger was removed and the aircraft searched.
"The aircraft was on the ground at the time of the incident. Officers worked with airport staff and with the aircraft crew to provide an immediate response to the report.
