According to WJXT in Jacksonville, Fla., the public defender representing Fucci submitted a written not guilty plea, which was accepted by the court.
Prosecutors previously upgraded the charges against Fucci and filed a motion to try the 14-year-old Florida boy as an adult with premeditated first-degree murder.
During a press conference last week, R.J. Larizza, state attorney for Florida's Seventh Judicial Circuit, said,"It's a sad decision, and a sad state of affairs. But it was clear to us after we looked at what happened, that it was not only appropriate to charge the defendant as an adult, but it was really the only choice that we can make.
