ForbesUnder30-founded medical imaging startup Aidoc announces a $27 million raise, to bring their total funding to $40 million
Founded in 2016 by Elad Walach, Michael Braginsky and Guy Reiner, Aidoc has just closed a Series B funding round of $27 million.Aidoc, it’s one of a few critical milestones for the team behind the AI tool that betters a radiologist’s workflow. Another of these notable achievements is a Series B raise of $27 million, in a round led by Square Peg Capital. The funding is paramount news for the startup, whose tool is already being put to use in 100 medical centers spread across the globe.
Aidoc’s cofounder and CEO Elad Walach said he and his team are expecting to use the investment to quintuple that number of hospitals where the company's technology is helping radiology units. “We feel a responsibility to get this technology into as many hospitals as possible, as soon as possible,” Walach said. “Our aim is to reach 500 hospitals in the next 2 years and we’re proud to partner with Square Peg to support this growth.
Walach started Tel-Aviv based Aidoc with cofounders Michael Braginsky and Guy Reiner in 2016, raising a total of $40 million in funding rounds to date. The FDA-cleared device is used to streamline the radiology process of reviewing CT scans, reportedly rapidly detecting any critical injuries like spine fractures and brain hemorrhages.
“Over the past few years, the amount of CT and MRI exams have increased dramatically, while the amount of radiologists have remained basically the same.
Aidoc’s algorithms that aid medical professionals in real-time screening scan data for abnormalities elevates the deep learning company as it continues to expand within healthcare
