Natasha Liu Bordizzo teases an even deeper journey for Sabine Wren in Ahsoka than she had in Rebels. Sabine Wren was first introduced in Rebels as a member of the Ghost Crew. She is a Mandalorian and former Imperial recruit who escaped after creating a deadly weapon that she destroyed after realizing the impact it could have on her own people.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Screen Rant spoke with Bordizzo about playing Sabine Wren after the Ahsoka panel at Star Wars Celebration. She explained that Sabine will face an internal struggle in Ahsoka, after being forced to face herself. And while she went through incredible growth in Rebels, her journey will be even deeper in the new series.
She has been through a lot. And I think that with this series, she really needs to face herself, she needs to face her own demons, she needs to face her internal struggles in order to get to the place she needs to get to. So she's changed a lot and I think that the journey that people are gonna see is even deeper than the journey she was on in Rebels.
Sabine Wren Will Face Her Demons In Ahsoka Ahsoka is bringing back most of Rebels' Ghost Crew, but it seems the Sabine story will be at the forefront as she grapples with Ezra counting on her to save him. Although she initially thought he was counting on her to protect Lothal from the Empire, her belief shifted at the end of Rebels and set up her quest to find her friend. While Sabine is a powerful warrior, she is also a runner.
Sabine was a teenager in Rebels, but since then she has grown into a young woman who has been standing as protector of Lothal in Ezra's absence. Both the Empire and Mandalore have fallen, and she will start a new mission in Ahsoka searching for both her friend and Grand Admiral Thrawn, who was the catalyst for Ezra's disappearance.
