Top two boys’ teams in Class 4A will meet in opening round of the state playoffs.

With the state playoffs in full swing starting today, the final regular season Alabama High School Athletic Association coaches’ soccer poll shows only one change at the top of the rankings.
The top two teams in the boys’ Class 4A poll swapped places with St. Michael moving to the No. 1 spot and Montgomery Catholic falling to No. 2. St. Michael is 15-8 and Montgomery Catholic is 15-5. Those two teams will play in the opening round of the playoffs at Fairhope’s Volanta Park on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Three teams completed a wire-to-wire run at No. 1 from the preseason poll to the final regular season ranking – the Oak Mountain boys in Class 7A, the Springville girls in 5A and the Westminster Christian girls in 4A. Springville and Westminster are defending state champions.
