Millions of Alabamians are preparing to head to the polls on election day.

DOTHAN, Ala. - As we are just one night away from election day , Houston County Probate Judge Patrick Davenport expects a large turnout of voters on November 5th.In Houston County over 82,000 voters are registered to vote.

Davenport expects a much larger turnout this election compared to the March 5th primary election. In March, around 13,900 ballots were cast compared to the over 80 thousand registered voters in the county. While Houston County voters will vote for our nation’s next president, they will also have a say in local matters.

Among those interests will be an amendment to change the process of selecting the health authority board and a lodging tax.
