The former COO says these contracts of between 2000 to 2016 are worth an estimated R2.5 billion.
Former Bosasa COO Angelo Agrizzi at the commission of inquiry into state capture on Wednesday listed the different government departments where the controversial company scored contracts.
From 1999 to 2002, the company scored contracts at various gold mines in different provinces across the country. From 2001 to 2004, Bosasa was awarded a contract to provide security services at the South African Post Office and for pension payouts and, during the same period, it scored a contract at the Airports Company of South Africa.
From 2004 to 2007, the company was awarded various contracts from the department of correctional services which saw the Bosasa’s profits balloon. During the same period, the company secured contracts in various youth centres in the North West under the department of social development as well as youth centres in Limpopo province.
In 2007, the company provided security services to the department of justice and constitutional development.Agrizzi gave an estimated value of these contracts and the bribes that the company would pay in relation to these tenders, which he said was approximately R2.5 billion from 2000 to 2016 with the company paying an estimated R10 million in bribes per annum.
He said whistleblowers at the passenger rail agency of South Africa have informed him that there are bribes that the company pays at the agency and that once he was in possession of concrete evidence, he would provide this to the commission.
