Bodycam shows police officers attempt to wrangle loose water buffalo in Idaho
An Iowa town is on high alert for an aggressive water buffalo on the loose after it escaped a dramatic police stand-off despite being shot by officers.
Police struggled to guide the animal back to safety as it ran through yards and even casually hopped over a chain link fence, footage obtained by KCCI showed.At one point, a police officer called out “hey, bull!” hoping to get the animals attention, but to no avail.The cops finally caught up to the water buffalo near a local bank, where an officer fired a shotgun and wounded the animal on its left side, according to body camera footage.
“The safety of the Pleasant Hill community is our top priority. With a dangerous animal loose in our community, we are using all resources available to keep our community safe and attempt to return the animal to its owner, if possible,” they added.The Pleasant Hill Police Department did not return The Post’s request for an update on Wednesday morning.
