Lock Etzebeth moved to Durban for this season to feature alongside the Springboks’ World Cup winning captain Siya Kolisi, who will, in fact, be doing the reverse trip to the French capital to join Racing 92.“Mates from the Springboks made my decision much easier,” he added. In the fall-out, he took up an offer to join Stade Francais in the Top 14 for the remainder of this season.

Koch won the 2019 World Cup alongside Etzebeth and Kolisi and will replace another member of that squad in Thomas Du Toit at the Sharks, who compete internationally in the United Rugby Championship and the Champions Cup.
