Texas AG Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against a New York-based physician after accusing her of illegally providing abortion-inducing drugs to a Texas woman.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Dr. Margaret Daley Carpenter, a New York-based physician, accusing her of illegally providing abortion-inducing drugs to Texas residents in violation of state law.The lawsuit alleges that Dr. Carpenter, who founded the Abortion Coalition for Telemedicine, prescribed the medication to a 20-year-old Collin County resident without holding a valid Texas medical license.

Misoprostol is used within 24-48 hours afterwards mifepristone and is used in medication abortion and causes cervical softening and dilation and uterine contractions.The 20-year-old asked the father of the unborn child, who had not known she was pregnant, to take her to the hospital because she was experiencing severe bleeding. Healthcare professionals told the father the woman "had been" pregnant.
