The incident caused tailbacks on the motorway
Police have warned drivers to be aware of 'standing water' after a crash involving a Range Rover caused disruption to traffic on the M1. Officers from Derbyshire Constabulary were called out to the scene of a two vehicle collision on the M1 southbound, before junction 28, for South Normanton.
In a post on Twitter, the Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit shared pictures of the aftermath of the collision which left a black Range Rover with damage to the front of the vehicle. Details about the other vehicle involved remain unclear. Officers were called to the incident shortly after 8.40am on Tuesday, January 10. The collision involved two vehicles which crashed into a barrier due to standing water.It is understood that no one has been injured in the incident. The vehicles were recovered at 10.20am, a spokesperson for Derbyshire Constabulary said.
In a tweet, Derbyshire Roads Policing Unit said: "Lots of standing water causing issues this morning. This was a two vehicle collision after hitting standing water and then crash barrier. No injuries but lots of tailbacks. The signs are there to slow you down." Further rain is forecast over the region on Tuesday evening with outbreaks too on Wednesday afternoon amid cloudy spells and sunshine.
