Faloo Update: As a result of an angry moose on the trail, Faloo was flown into Anchorage and was taken to an Anchorage...that he shot and killed the antlered obstacle and “gutted it as best I could” after it acted aggressively toward his team. The encounter with the moose delayed Seavey by several hours on the trail as he was forced by rule to gut the moose and provide race officials the opportunity to salvage the meat.
“There’s some tight, winding stuff,” Dunham said in an interview on Monday with Iditarod.com. “There happened to be a dead moose in the trail that kind of flipped the sled. I did laugh and think, ‘Man, even when they’re dead they’re still getting me.’”“That was an experience of a lifetime,” Vitello said. “I can’t say I’ve ever ran a 16-dog team over a moose.
