Camping reservations are now open at Balmorhea State Park after years of repairs and renovations.

Balmorhea State Park, home to the world’s largest spring-fed swimming pool, has finally reopened its campground. The West Texas oasis is in Toyahvale , about a five-hour drive from San Antonio . The pool closed in 2018 when structural damage was discovered. It briefly reopened, but the park closed again completely in 2019 for repairs, including campground upgrades, septic system work and issues with the pool’s drainage.

Watch: Some very Zen scenery at world's largest spring-fed swimming pool The park announced this week that campground sites are now available. “Upgraded infrastructure includes improved water lines, electrical systems, paved areas, and the addition of a state-of-the-art dark sky compliant restroom facility,” the park said in a post on Facebook. “Additionally, we’re proud to introduce three new ADA accessible RV sites, ensuring everyone can enjoy the beauty of Balmorhea.
